Why "Brew"?
The word "brew" carries the feeling of a freshly-made drink, and we intend to not just make a cup of coffee, but to do it with passion and a love for the drink.
We want to further carry the feeling of "brewing" into the ambience of our café; interpreted by our careful & personal selection of the following:-
("brewing" of) nicely roasted 100% Arabica Coffee Beans;
("browsing" of) Design Books;
("basking" in) Music from the Putumayo World Music selection.
Thus, "Brew" in Brew1819 also depicts the "stimulation" of a relaxing lifestyle during that good old "coffee break".
Why "1819"?
1819 was the year Singapore was founded by Sir Stamford Raffles. Trade flourished. It marked a new beginning. It became a motivation for us.
It also happens to be the dates of the 2 days in November 2007 (yes, we talked about it overnight) the idea of setting up a café was first mooted by the 3 buddies.
It marks a new beginning and hence holds a special meaning to us.
